Why is there a voluntary product recall for Allura™ Decking and Fascia products? In July of 2017, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”), Plycem USA LLC (“Plycem USA”) initiated a voluntary product recall for its Allura™ Decking and Fascia products due to cracking and delamination that may occur under certain circumstances. We believe these issues are a result of improper installation, where pre-drilling recommendations have not been followed, but we are still in the process of conducting further testing.
Which products are subject to this voluntary recall? All Allura™ Decking products, including Decking Fascia, are subject to this voluntary recall. These products include the Allura™ Decking for direct screw application and for hidden fastener applications, as well as all Allura 8” and 12” Decking Fascia products.
Where were the products sold?Allura™ Decking products were available throughout the U.S. However, most of the Allura™ Decking product sales were made in the south and southwest parts of the U.S.
What does the product look like? Allura™ Decking comes in a neutral sandy color and it looks similar to natural wood. Photos are available on our web site at www.allurausa/deckingrecall. can I identify the product affected?If you bought Allura™ Decking, assume that your product may be affected; you should immediately contact Plycem USA to discuss the next steps.What should I do if I have a deck installed with this material?If you see any signs of cracking, chipping, or delamination, you should immediately cordon off that area to prevent potential injury. Even if there are no signs of cracking, chipping, or delamination, it is important that you also immediately contact Plycem USA at 1-844-452-6787 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., CST, or visit <>www.allurausa.com/deckrecall to provide us with some initial information so that we can arrange to inspect your deck. There is a Registration Form available on our web site for this, or if you place a call to us at the number above we will collect the necessary information from you over the phone.
What does this deterioration look like? What are some signs of deterioration that I should look for? Some premature deterioration may occur within the decking as delamination and this might not be easy to detect. Obvious deterioration will look like cracking or chipping. Deterioration may vary depending on the exposure of the boards. Some boards may be unaffected at one end, but degraded on the other end.

Should I contact Plycem USA even if I don’t see any visible deterioration on my deck? Yes, please contact us and register by calling 1-844-452-6787. We want to arrange for an inspection as soon as possible to avoid any potential injury.
What is the process I need to go through for this voluntary recall? The most important and first step is to arrange for an inspection. This can be done in one of two ways. The preferred way is to go to www.allurausa.com/deckrecall and fill out the Registration Form that is available there. You can also call 1-844-452-6787 for help and provide the information needed for the Registration Form by telephone. After the Registration Form has been filled out, someone from Plycem USA will contact you to make arrangements for an inspection.
After I complete the Registration Form, what happens next? After you have completed the Registration Form (either online or by telephone), an inspection of your deck will be arranged by Plycem USA. Inspections will be scheduled in the order that completed Registration Forms are received, however, priority will be given to decks that are currently exhibiting signs of advanced deterioration or decks that appear to be a present safety hazard.
Who will be doing the inspections? Can I use my own inspector? Plycem USA will arrange for the inspection. Their inspectors are trained to determine whether the decking product presents a safety risk.
What will Plycem USA do to fix my deck if it presents a safety risk? After you have completed the Registration Form, Plycem USA will arrange for an inspector to examine your deck and determine if it presents a safety risk. If the results of the inspection indicate that your deck is prematurely deteriorating, it will be remedied – at no cost to you. Plycem USA will arrange to have the decking removed and then replaced at no cost to you.
What should I do if I have purchased product subject to this voluntary recall but I haven’t built my deck yet? Please contact Plycem USA 1-844-452-6787 to provide this information, and they will advise you.
What products will be used to replace affected decking? Plycem USA and independent contractors retained by Plycem USA will work closely with homeowners to replace affected decking with comparable material.
What are the timelines? How long will it take to get an inspection? How long will it take to get a replacement deck if that is needed? At the current time, inspections are expected to take place within about 21-28 days from the date that Plycem USA receives your completed Registration Form. However, where safety issues exist, Plycem USA will arrange for inspection more quickly.
Is there priority status for unsafe decks? Yes. Based on the information that Plycem USA receives from the completed Registration Forms, decks that appear to present a current safety risk will have priority status for inspection and the necessary remediation.
If I am selling my home, do I need to notify the buyers about this voluntary decking recall? Yes. Both Plycem USA and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission want to make sure that buyers of your home are aware if this voluntary recall so that if the inspection has not taken place before your home is sold, we can communicate with the buyers to move forward with an inspection and any remediation that may be needed.
